How trading works in Steal a Brainrot

Trades are item-for-item through the in-game Trade Machine — you swap brainrots (and Seasonal Base Skins, since Base Trading arrived in the Summer Update) directly, with no real money involved. The community measures brainrots in 'value' to keep swaps fair, but those are reference points, not a price. A trade is only fair when both players are happy with it.

Step by step

• Agree the exact brainrots (and any base skin) for both sides first.
• Walk up to the Trade Machine and press E to open it.
• Pick your partner from the Server, Friends, or Search tab — type their exact username to invite anyone.
• They accept the invite; your brainrots show on one side, theirs on the other.
• Both place exactly what you agreed, then check every brainrot's rarity, mutation, and traits.
• Both press Ready to confirm. Re-check the window right before you accept.

Check the username + the mutation and traits

Make sure the Roblox @username matches the person you arranged the trade with — scammers copy display names and avatars, but the @username is unique. Then check each brainrot in the window: a mutation (Gold, Diamond, Rainbow, Galaxy, Candy, Bloodrot, Phantom — only one at a time) and any traits (Strawberry, Meowl, John Pork, Skibidi — these stack) both multiply its value, so the same brainrot can be worth a little or a fortune.

What you can and can't trade

Brainrots trade freely, and since the Summer Update you can add a Seasonal Base Skin to a deal too. But brainrot bases and mutation bases are not tradeable — don't agree to a deal built around one. When a trade mixes brainrots and a base skin, value the brainrots on their own and treat the skin as a separate add-on.

Scams to watch for

• Trust trade — never hand a brainrot over first and trust them to 'send it back'. Use the Trade Machine so both sides swap at once.
• Quantity bait — a big pile of low-value Secrets (lots of La Vacca Saturno Saturnitas) can look impressive but add up to far less than one high-tier brainrot. Count the real value, not the stack size.
• Last-second swap — they show a mutated or OG brainrot, then drop in a plain one before Ready. Re-check the window right before you confirm.
• Sharking — lying about a brainrot's value, often with a fake list, to underpay you. Check a real value list first.
• Phishing sites — never enter your Roblox password on an outside 'free brainrot' site. Brainrots only ever trade in-game through the Trade Machine.
