What trophy variants are
In Garden Tower Defense, a unit can exist in Gold, Silver, Bronze, Glass, and Rainbow trophy variants. These are not cosmetic tags stacked onto one item — each variant is baked into the unit's name as a fully separate item. When you trade, list, or search, the variant is part of what the item is.
Separate items, separate values
Because each variant is its own item, each has its own place on the community value list, and the gap between variants of the same unit can be large. Never assume one variant's standing from another's — look up the exact entry. As always, a value is a community reference point, not a price: a way to compare the two sides of an item-for-item swap.
Searching and listing variants on TradingKeep
- Search the base unit name to see every variant of it side by side
- When you create a listing, pick the exact variant item — a Gold listing and a Rainbow listing are different items
- When you make or receive an offer, confirm the variant in writing before you meet up in-game
The variant swap scam
The most common variant trick is simple: you agree on one variant, and a similar-looking one appears in the trade window. Read the full unit name in the Trading UI every time, especially after your partner changes anything, and cancel and rebuild the trade if the name is not exactly what you agreed on.
