Values in Grow a Garden come from how the game's own systems stack, not from any single figure the game prints on an item. Begin with the baseline: a crop or pet's rarity sets the general range it sits in. Mutations then reshape that range, and because the growth mutation multiplies while environmental mutations stack additively on top, the distance between a plain harvest and a heavily mutated one is huge, the same crop can land in wildly different brackets depending on what it carries. Pets are read differently: their weight is a real lever, so a heavier example of a given pet generally stands above a lighter one, and a pet mutation (applied through the Mutation Machine) layers on more scarcity still. Wrapping around all of it is demand, which is why event-limited pets and seasonal crops climb once an event ends and they stop entering the game. Because that supply picture keeps moving, the ordering you see reflects recent community trading, not a fixed rate.
Read the ranking as relative standing. An item near the top is one many traders currently chase and treat as a strong centerpiece, while lower entries are more common and easier to farm yourself. To judge whether a trade is even, weigh the whole of each side rather than the headline item: account for every mutation, the actual weight on any pets, and how much of an offer is just common crops padding the total. If one side is a single scarce, high-mutation piece and the other is a heap of ordinary produce, a raw total can look level while the real desirability is lopsided. Above all, remember these are community reference points for a trade economy, not a price, nothing here is money and no listed figure guarantees a deal. Use the list to spot obvious lowballs and get in the right ballpark, then let genuine demand between you and the other trader settle what is fair.
