Trading rules
Terraria has no trade window, no marketplace, and no level or unlock gate — a "trade" is a mutual agreement between two players in the same world, where one drops an item and the other picks it up. Coins can technically be dropped, but real trades are item-for-item since in-game currency is easily farmed, and there is no trade tax or fee. Because there is no escrow, agree on both sides first and only trade with players you trust. Values here are the game's own rarity TIER — an in-game progression color-band, not a trade-desirability ranking and never a price.

Terraria trading is a handshake, not a storefront. There is no trade window and no marketplace built into the game — when two players want to swap gear, they hop into the same multiplayer world, one person drops the item on the ground or into a chest, and the other picks it up. That simplicity is the charm, but it also means every trade is a matter of trust. This hub exists to give the community a shared, game-accurate sense of what each item is so both sides can line their gear up before they deal.
Everything here is framed as a player-to-player, item-for-item exchange. Nothing on this page is for sale for real money, and we don't encourage trading Terraria items or coins for cash — that's our stance, and it keeps the community healthy. What we do offer is a clean read on how the game itself ranks items by rarity tier, from a common White-tier Copper Shortsword up through the Purple-tier top of the normal ladder and the special Expert and Master rewards. One honest caveat: Terraria's rarity color is a rough progression band, not a measure of how hard something was to earn — the Terraprisma sits at a modest tier yet is one of the toughest drops in the game, so read tiers as a starting point, not a verdict.
